1. What you may do without asking

Teachers and learners may use the articles and Hangul Play widgets in a classroom or study group. Show them on a screen, work through them with students, assign them as reading. No permission request is necessary; a link back to the source page is enough. This applies to paid tutoring as well as to schools.

You may also quote a reasonable excerpt in your own writing with attribution and a link, and link to any page here freely.

2. What requires permission

Republishing a full article elsewhere, translating one into another language for publication, bundling this material into a paid course or product, or reproducing the original graphics and diagrams outside an instructional setting all require written permission first. Write to the address below — the answer is usually yes, and it is usually quick.

Training machine learning models on this site's content is not permitted without a separate agreement.

3. Intellectual property

All content published here — English essays, Korean text, visual graphics, diagrams, widget design, and media — belongs to Uncle Hangul (한글아저씨) and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark law, except where third-party material is identified as such.

4. Accuracy of language content

This site explains how Korean is actually used, which means it frequently describes regional variation, generational difference, and usage that is common but not textbook-standard. Where that is the case, the article says so.

Nothing here should be treated as an authoritative ruling on standard Korean for examination or official purposes. If an article contains an error, please report it — corrections are made and credited.

5. Accuracy of the tools

The interactive tools are planning and learning aids, not authoritative systems.

Hangul transliteration of names and places follows common transcription conventions and may differ from official romanization. Do not rely on it for passports, visas, tickets, or any legal document.

The shipping and address tools produce estimates and formatting suggestions. Customs rules, surcharges, carrier policies, and destination-country restrictions are not fully modeled. Always confirm against the carrier's or post office's official quote before shipping.
